A:Here's the draft contract，Mr. Smith. Let's discuss the clauses to see if we agree on all of them. Then I’ll make out an original of the contract. After that, what’s left is to fill out the contract and sign our names.
A:史密斯先生，这是我们的合同草案。让我们讨论一下 并看是否能达成协议，然后我再拟一个合同正本，最后 就只剩下填合同还有我们的签名了。
B： That's OK.
B:好的。
A：The contract is to be written in Chinese and English. Both languages are equally effective.
A:合同将有中文和英文各一份。中英文的效力是同样 的.。
B：Fine. If you’ll excuse me, I'd like to go over it first. (After about 15 minutes) Hmm, you've done a pretty good job. It's well prepared.
B:好,如果可以的话，我想先看一下。(15分钟以后)，噢，挺好的。
A;Thank you.
A:谢谢。
B： Well, I suggest that we discuss only the clauses and points where we have different opinions, just to save time.

A：That's a good idea.

B:First，let's read Clause Two about packing. It's our usual practice to ship our products in containers. That’ll save time and money，but your contract stipulates the use of wooden cases. So, we'd like to have the words “containers are allowed” in the contract.

A: Agreed

B：For shipment, you know we are producing a complete set of equipment for you and it won't all be finished at one time. So would you allow us to make partial shipments.

A:I understand your position.

A ： Now，we have finally reached a basic agreement on the problems that needed be worked out.

B;Both of our parties have made a great effort.
B:为此我们双方都做出很大的努力。
A：That's true. But shall we sign the contract now?
A:是的。我们现在可以签合同了吧?
B：Just a minute. Though everything seems clear, to avoid arguing over some minor problems in the days to come, we’d better have another check.
B:稍等一会。虽然看起来一切都清楚，但是为了避免将 来在一些小问题上产生分歧，我们最好再检查一下。
A：That's a good idea. I really appreciate your conscientious attitude.
A:这个建议很好。我很欣赏您这种认真的态度。
B：Thank you. In fact, your company enjoys high prestige as we know. That's why we prefer to cooperate with your company.

A:It's a great pleasure. I believe a better cooperation between us mostly comes from good will and confidence in each other.

B：That's true. OK, let’s get down to our business. Let's check all the items to make sure no important items have been overlooked.

B:First of all, about the format of our contract, we have written the content both in Chinese and English. Therefore, they’re equally authentic in terms of law.

B： There‘re two of the originals of the contract. Here's a copy for you to check.

A: Yes，please.

A：Yes. Very good. Isn't time to sign the contract?
A:很好。现在该签字了吧?
B ： Surely.
