考研英语翻译真题演练(2007考研英语真题为例)
在研究考研英语阅读的同时，我们需要花些时间掌握翻译的技巧以及通过不断练习减少失分点。复习不应只看英文以及对应的中文，因为只看会感觉我也会，但是一旦自己动手翻会发现问题百出，因此今天老师带领大家就一篇学生的翻译进行讲解，看看自己是不是有类似通病。
(46) Traditionally, legal learning has been viewed in such institutions as the special preserve of lawyers, rather than a necessary part of the intellectual equipment of an educated person.就传统而言，法律知识在一些学校中已经被看作是律师们的特殊领域，而不是一个受过良好教育的人知识储备中所必需具备的一部分。批注：该句中有as，可以与其搭配的view...as和such as，根据句义来看，是与view搭配的，把...视为...，该学生的理解是对的，问题是没有把such翻译出来，指代的是上述的一些学校不能仅仅翻译为一些。special preserve是固定搭配，专门工作或者特殊权利。这里取专门工作的意思。
(47)On the other, it links these concepts to everyday realities in a manner which is parallel to the links journalists forge on a daily basis as they cover and comment on the news.另一方面，法律以某种方式将这些概念与每天的现实联系起来，这种方式与记者每天报道新闻和评论新闻的方式相类似。批注：该句翻译得很好，没有问题。
(48) But the idea that the journalist must understand the law more profoundly than an ordinary citizen rests on an understanding of the established conventions and special responsibilities of the news media.然而观点认为比起普通人，记者必须对法律有更深远的理解，这取决于他们对于已经完善的条例的理解以及对于新闻媒体的特殊责任。批注：rest on是基于而不是取决于的意思。注意形容词的翻译要尽量准确，establish是建立的意思，形容词是建立好的，翻译为既有的，而没有完善的意思。从整个句式来看，可以这样来译：新闻记者比普通人....,这一观点基于....。
(49) In fact, it is difficult to see how journalists who do not have a clear grasp of the basic features of the Canadian Constitution can do a competent job on political stories.事实上，那些对于加拿大宪法的基本特征没有清晰把握的.记者们是很难胜任政治报道这项工作的。Difficult不是来修饰记者们的，而是很难去想象....。
(50) While comment and reaction from lawyers may enhance stories, it is preferable for journalists to rely on their own notions of significance and make their own judgments.然而，来自律师们的评论和反应也许可以增强故事情节，但是对于记者们而言，他们更偏爱依靠他们自己对于重大事件的理解并作出自己的判断。While尽管、虽然;stories是新闻的意思，而非故事。
