部分应届生为找到一份满意的工作而大打“感情牌”。“自白”的作者，大四学生小陈称，写这份“自白书”的目的首先是追求独特，现在竞争如此激烈，如果不能一举抢得用人单位的“眼球”，那么就很难保证应聘的成功率。
据了解，目前不少应届生都在找工作之际大打“感情牌”，以便更好地推销自己。
“此外，不少求职信看上去像块小”砖头“，粗粗一数，竟然有几十张纸之多，而内容之具体简直像是一本应聘者本人的”自传“。而且不少”自传“满纸是”血泪家史“，或是”从小父母离异“，或是”弟弟辍学在家“，在打动人心方面做足文章。
一家用人单位的负责人抱怨，原本花几个小时就能完成筛选，现在工作量上升了好几倍，让人不甚其烦。
这类自荐信的淘汰率很高，以前是简历“注水”严重，如今一份原本应该简单明了的材料也如此滥情，实在让他们怀疑大学生的个人诚信。
一些高校的就业指导专家认为，荐信如果太过“煽情”，反而会降低求职“成交率”。求职信有一套操作规范，大学生完全可以不用“别出心裁”。自荐信，忌给自己戴高帽子，忌炫耀以往的经历，这样易给人一种华而不实之感。
另外，专家还认为，一些人在成长的过程中走过许多弯路，这是可以理解的。但是有些大学生却把这些经历当成资本，进行“情感推销”，企图博得用人单位的同情就不足取了。其实，用人单位看了反而会觉得其很虚伪，有失诚信。大学生求职时应该反映自己的真实状况，尽量给企业一种诚实的感觉。
